50 CENT POST NAS ‘MAGIC 2’ COLLAB AS RELEASE DATE & COVER ART ARRIVES

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (July 18), 50 Cent confirms his involvement with the legendary Queensbridge lyricist on the project, which is set to drop later this week on Friday (July 21).

In his caption beneath the cover art of “Magic 2,” depicting a young Nas transforming into his present-day self, 50 Cent writes, “It’s been a while since you heard from me, but @nas and I felt it was time to make it happen. Don’t miss out on Friday, 7.21. MAGIC 2 (Office Hours) QGTM Boom.”

Nas also shares the news on Instagram, joined by Hit-Boy, who appears to be reprising his production duties after scoring the first “Magic” album in 2021, as well as all three of Nas’ “King’s Disease” projects. The announcement of Nas and 50 Cent reuniting on a track was first revealed in February, with Billboard reporting that the G-Unit boss would be making a rare appearance, speculated to be on “King’s Disease 4.”

The Queens legends last collaborated in 2002 when they were both signed to Columbia Records, teaming up for tracks such as “Too Hot” and “Who U Rep With” on 50 Cent’s “Guess Who’s Back?” mixtape. In 2005, they briefly clashed when 50 Cent mocked Nas in “Piggy Bank” for getting a tattoo of his now-ex-wife Kelis (“Kelis said her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, then Nas went and tattooed the bitch on his arm”).

However, any lingering tension was resolved in 2014 when the duo shared the stage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam.

In a later interview with Hot 97 last year, 50 Cent showered Nas with praise, saying, “I love Nas. He’s the real deal. He is the guy, the lyrical genius—we were figuring out how to do it.”
